About the Diamond
On the choice of the stone – and what it asks of the world to bring it to you.
The Choice
For more than a century, a diamond meant one thing: stone pulled from the earth at any cost. The cost is now visible. We chose a different beginning. Every BELLAR stone is grown – never mined. The choice is not technical. It is moral, and aesthetic at once.
The Old Way
The world of mined diamonds carries a long shadow – conflict regions, a supply concentrated in the hands of a few houses for their own interest, tonnes of earth moved and water consumed by the cubic kilometer for every single carat. Even the strictest certifications could never quite name every hand a stone had passed through. We chose to leave that history behind.
Of True Origin
Every BELLAR diamond is grown in a laboratory that meets the highest international standards – traceable from start to finish, powered by renewable energy, with no excavation, no conflict and no open question about where it came from. The number engraved on the girdle of the cut is the same one that appears on the certificate, and ultimately, in our archive under your name.
A Diamond, By Every Measure
A lab-grown diamond is, in every measurable sense, a diamond – the same carbon in the same crystal lattice, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale, the same brilliance and fire. It is certified by IGI or GIA on exactly the same grading scale as a mined stone. The only thing that differs is the origin, and everything that no longer comes with it.
Mind over mined.
